OVERVIEW • visual: aoi is a college student in her early-twenties, said to look more like a beautiful and pretty boy than a woman. she has sleek black hair fashioned in a short cut and soft golden eyes. she wears masculine clothes in her day to day life, only ever seen in feminine outfits when she is "persuaded" into cosplay by her friend, hiiro. even when aoi cosplays, she is described to look like a boy in girl's clothes. she is 5"5' in height and more often than not has a pleasant smile on her face. her full appearance is here for reference. • voice: aoi is voiced by tsunko. she has quite a gentle tone, and is generally soft-spoken. you can hear a full clip of her voice here. • personality: aoi is a pleasant person who seems just a bit distant from reality and those around her. her closest friend says that aoi seems to be in her own world, and that's partially true. she's quite mysterious, and doesn't talk much about herself. her biggest passion is her DJ unit RONDO, as it is the driving force in her life. she describes RONDO as what gave her purpose. she has many female fans due to her androgynous appearance, though aoi never takes advantage of the girls that fawn over her, and even makes a point to keep them at a distance and set boundaries if they go too far. she unintentionally flirts from time to time however, especially with her unitmate tsubaki. aoi can be surprisingly dense when it comes to tsubaki's feelings for her, as she often says romantic things to tsubaki without understanding her reaction afterwards. • background: not much is known about aoi's past before the events of D4DJ. aoi herself says that she was in a deep depression before her dj unit RONDO was formed, and that RONDO pulled her out of that hole. all that has been shown of aoi in her high school years was that she had long hair and dressed in feminine fashion before deciding she was more comfortable presenting in a masculine manner. she currently performs at the night club alter ego, and was the first member of RONDO. she first recruits hiiro, and later encourages tsubaki to join the group in a rather dramatic and fateful manner.
